I just completed Anthony William’s 3 – 6 – 9 liver cleanse that is detailed in his “Cleanse” book. It is a nutrient dense cleanse. I feel rejuvenated!! My energy and motivation is back. My body is not stiff anymore and my hand pain is completely gone.
Taking care of my liver is the “fountain of youth” for me and by staying on a low fat diet. I am even reducing vegetable fat for a period of time. This gives the liver time to complete its detox time in the morning in which I am only ingesting water with lemon, celery juice, and fruit smoothies or just whole fruit; basically no fatty foods until lunchtime.
When I would eat a poached egg for breakfast, my liver has to stop the detox cycle and change over to another liver function of breaking down the fats for digestion.
When I notice my body getting stiff or other aches and pains, I know that it is a sign that my system is too acidic.
I am 75 years old and most everyone would be retiring now, but I feel that I am on a clearer life path and want to share more about nature’s healing power with fruits, vegetables, wild foods, herbs and spices. I was a vegetarian for a long time but finally got off of my beloved eggs for breakfast. I was already off of dairy products because of the fat content.
Why do I personally want to be careful with eating too much fatty food besides creating acidic condition in my body? I inherited a glucose condition called renal glycasuria. Every time I was required to get a medical physical for school when I was a kid the nurses would panic because my urine test showed high glucose levels. I was then forced to go to the local hospital to get a four hour “glucose tolerance test”.
This test involved measuring your fasting blood glucose levels with a blood draw, then drinking a syrupy sugar mixture. Every hour they would re-test your levels by taking another blood test. My system never showed high levels of glucose in my blood. Everything was fine until my next school physical and another freak out from medical staff.
Finally, my mother took me to a MD specialist in diabetes near Washington, DC. He was a very nice older doctor, who just told me to “watch my diet”. This has been a priority throughout my life to work toward optimal health, eating a balanced diet and managing stress.
Throughout the years of my practice, there has been a lot of Medical Doctors advocating high fat/high protein diets to promote good health. There was the Dr. Atkin’s Diet, Dr. Rosedale, “the diabetes expert” – train your body to burn fat instead of glucose, Dr. Mercola and the keto diet, Dr. Elamir and the paleo diet, Dr. Baker and the carnivore diet and also trending was the Weston A. Price diet with very high fat dairy, meat and fermentation of foods (highly acidic).
I am reading now, “Lies I Taught in Medical School” by Robert Lufkin, MD. He recommends the keto diet and intermittent fasting with his theory that insulin makes us fat so we need a high fat/high protein diet with very little carbohydrates.
My understanding is that our body needs glucose to survive. Our liver store’s glycogen to release when our system gets low. Our hearts and brain needs glucose to function also. That is why fresh fruit and veggies are so important for our survival and good health and provide the best form of glucose to use safely. They are also easy to digest. The important key for diabetics 1, 1.5, 2 is that “fats inhibit glucose absorption. High blood fat makes it very difficult for the hormone insulin to attach to sugar to get into the cells of organs, glands, and the nervous system, including the brain.” This is a quote from Anthony William’s newest books called the “Brain Saver”.
All his books have advance health knowledge, delicious veggie/fruit recipes and suggested protocols for many health imbalances.
In this fast paced, Wifi ed and highly chemicalized world we live in, fresh fruits and vegetables can cleanse, protect and heal us.
